Welcome!

I served as an FHE leader for over a year. Since then, people have come to me for ideas on what to do in their own wards. It started to become a bit annoying texting idea after idea to numerous amounts of people which led to me creating a blog for everyone to collaborate and share ideas.

Reverse Charades

Charades, but backwards.

Split up into groups of 4-6.

Group acts out words while one member of group guesses.

Group with the most points at the end of the game wins!

Can be purchased here, or you can create your own words.

Sock Puppet Show

Items needed: random craft items (string, buttons, ribbon etc.), socks, hot glue gun, markers, "props".

Let group members know ahead of time to bring a random sock (clean).

Split group into groups of 3-5 people. Each group picks out 3 "props" (see below). Everyone takes 10 minutes to make their socks into puppets using random craft items. Then they collaborate to make a short skit/play using their puppets and props.

Props must be used in the skit - helps create a story.

We made them from a cricket machine.

America's Next Top Model

Most talked about activity

Split ward members into groups of 3-4. Better to split up the out-going people and the shy people so each group has a mixture. They out-going people will encourage the shy people to get more into the activity.

Each group receives a "category" (listed below) in which they have to dress up as.

Groups have 15 minutes to head back to their apartments and get
in costume as well as choose 1 song they want to walk down the runway to.

Each group takes turns strutting down the runway (we just did it in an apartment - no big thing).

iPod Idol

Let group members know ahead of time to bring their iPods (w/headphones).

Individuals take turns going "on stage" and performing.

Choose a song on iPod
Turn it UP!
Head phones IN
Sing your heart out

Funny when they think they know all the words, but they really don't. Usually takes a while for people to get into it, but once they do they wont stop!

Iron Chef

For: Ward FHE/Large Group
Items needed: 1 secret ingredient

Split group up into 3+ groups. All groups receive the same "secret ingredient" that they base their dish off of. The secret ingredient must be used in the dish.

Groups leave and have 30-45 minutes to cook dish. Groups are allowed to use food items they already have in their apartments and/or an allocated amount to spend. Once all groups are back, they are judged (FHE mom/dad, bishopric etc.)
